Even by decades-old exploitation film standards, The Blood Spattered Bride is pretty overt in its fear of feminism and lesbianism. However, that fear is so prominent that I think it loops back around into being borderline complimentary. 6.9/10

With Liz in September I’m just trying to work out if the fact that the last 15 minutes did make me cry makes up for the fact that the first hour and 25 minutes made me feel very little. Ultimately, I don’t think that math evens out. 6.1/10

Carmen and Lola is an above average coming-of-age film. The few problems I have with it don’t overrule the positives of this movie. It has great performances and characters I care about. Carmen and Lola feels alive as a movie. 7.5/10
