A Wife Alone

A Wife Alone has a complete lack of novelty. Nothing about this movie is fresh, exciting or necessary. It is not worth time, emotion or words.

The film is a crime thriller. It focuses on a woman named Jaine. Jaine worked as a sex worker before stealing from a client and escaping. She quickly marries a businessman named Park. Park and Jaine visit with Park’s boss, Steven and his wife. But Steven is the man Jaine stole from! As it turns out, Jaine is running a larger con on Steven with Park’s assistance. But Jaine’s true motives are lesbian related.

A Wife Alone isn’t overtly bad. It holds together fine for 69 minutes. It’s just that it adds absolutely nothing new to the conversation. This is a movie I’ve seen versions of time after time. And without the budget or ingenuity to do something new with the story, it ends up being unnecessary and forgettable.

That’s all I have to say about A Wife Alone. It’s surplus to requirement. Nothing about the film is fresh. Everyone on the cast and crew are trying their best and none are overtly bad. But with a story this common, the entire endeavour feels like a waste of time. I won’t remember this movie by next week.
