Love Sick falls pretty neatly into this kind of European indie movie about the young generation; freedom and debauchery of city living and some grit in the story as well as the visuals. Love Sick chose for its grit to be incest, which is a bold choice. 5.5/10

I applaud Big Dreams in Little Hope. With the budget and technology available to them, they still turned out a pretty solid comedy. 5.6/10
If nothing else, Men Not Allowed is one of very few WLW movies with a theme song. Western cinema, take note. If you’re gonna make a bad movie, at go balls to the wall on the editing. And give it a theme song. I think every WLW movie should have a theme song. 3.1/10
Maple Palm is not the worst WLW movie I’ve ever seen. There’s exactly four WLW movies that are worse than it. 1.6/10
Kiss Me Again is shallow nonsense. Its focus is on being sexy and little else. 2.7/10
Matsumoto Seicho Special: Yubi is the rare WLW movie that crosses from just being bad into being so bad it’s kind of good. 3.2/10
Another day, another zany yet lazy comedy best left forgotten. 3.7/10
Sonja is ultimately a competent but unremarkable coming of age film. 5.2/10
Like any subgenre, there are good films and bad ones. The Gymnast isn’t really either. It’s a pretty middling movie overall. 6.0/10
