Overall, Porcupine Lake is a success. It makes excellent use of a Canadian setting and manages to tell an innocent story about budding sexuality. 6.3/10

Well, Hayley “Lesbian Jesus” Kiyoko is in Becks so it shouldn’t be a surprise that the movie is good. 6.4/10
Pimp is a simple and offensive film that exploits black people and is overtly sexist towards women. 4.7/10
The Ring Thing a small budget queer movie that was made by queer people. It means well. Sadly, it just isn’t good. 2.7/10
The Heiresses is just really good. Its direction makes a simple, well done story absolutely sing. 8.3/10
I loved Knife + Heart. The film is a queer update of a genre I already loved. It’s kept all the staples of that genre while managing to make a film that’s gay-friendly instead of homophobic. 8.7/10
Maybe Lez Bomb represents some sort of equality we have been missing. Perhaps true equality is even LGBTQ* people getting broad, TGI Friday-style comedies with overdone joke set ups. 5.0/10
Compulsion has nothing going for it. The focus of this movie is being sexy so character work and story are almost non-existent. But it’s also not even that sexy or extreme. 3.9/10
To any WLW out there with shitty parents, Nick Offerman’s character in Hearts Beat Loud is your dad now. I don’t make the rules, he just is. 7.9/10
Like lots of Netflix films, To Each Her Own doesn’t seem to have grander ambitions than to waste 90 minutes of your time and have you not feel pissed off at the end of it.
