Two Mothers is probably the most standard lesbian pregnancy drama film I’ve seen. And I’ve seen most of them. 5.5/10

Axolotl Overkill is a stylized and challenging film with great cinematography. It’s a deeply impressive debut from Helene Hegemann. 5.6/10
As much as I don’t always understand that intent, The Girl and the Spider engaged me and caused me to think about deeper fictional themes than most movies, WLW or otherwise. 6.6/10
It’s obvious Ulrike Ottinger is intelligent and wants her art to say things. She also wants to experiment. But the thing about experiments is that they don’t always work. While Madame X’s feminist statement came through, some specifics were probably lost on me. 5.6/10
Virgin Machine is a fascinating artistic snapshot of feminist and filmmaking in West Germany; a country that would cease to exist less than two years after Virgin Machine’s release. 6.4/10
Everything Will Be Fine feels like the future. This film is youthful, modern and effortlessly progressive. 6.5/10
Nice though it is to look at, Bonnie & Bonnie doesn’t bring much new to the gay couple crime spree subgenre. 5.8/10
There’s so much more subtly to Tár than I expected. This is an exceptional character study of a woman who is awful, but in a way that feels complex and real. 8.4/10
Air falls victim of being good but not great in the over-crowded field of WLW teen dramas. 5.6/10
Finale is a waste of 75 minutes. The film has little plot and little talent on display. 1.7/10
