My Old Ass is a charming, funny and moving film from a bisexual director. It clearly seems to play on the director’s personal experiences and does so with a lot of heart. 8.1/10

Beyond its underrepresented protagonist, there’s such a strong sense throughout the film of Jorge Manzano’s passion and talent as a storytelling. But so many of the decisions and limitations brought on by budget hinder that story from reaching its full potential. 5.0/10
This is a really forgettable film with a standard premise and below average execution. 3/10
Backspot has a lot of strengths. Primarily, the rendering of its main character and the incredible performance from Jacobs. But the film is a touch uneven and unfocused. 5.8/10
While Days of Happiness is not a bad film by any means, the Tár comparisons definitely hurt it as Tár is basically a masterpiece and Days of Happiness just isn’t on the same level. 6.0/10
I’m glad that this film exists and that it was so successful depicting queer youth in such a harmless way. It’s hard to say I fully enjoyed it, though. As an adult, I am simply not the audience. 5.8/10
When Time Got Louder balances heart and actual knowledge and care in the depiction of a family with an autistic child. The solid centre means that even in the moments when the film flounders, the sum total of the film successful. 6.5/10
Not once did I even smile watching Idle Thoughts. It was irritating more than anything. I can’t call this a successful project in any way. 3.1/10
The Origin of Evil is a pretty great example of the fucked up rich family melodrama. 7.4/10
