I’ve seen a lot of queer movies in my time clearly made for a straight audience. That’s nothing new. What is new is the lengths to which Serving in Silence: The Margarethe Cammermeyer Story went to cater to a straight audience. 4.4/10
While The Dancer looks very nice, the writing lets the movie down. This is such a bland and by-the-numbers biopic. 5.6/10
The Countess has a base level of competence that stops me from calling it out and out bad. However, personally, I was greatly disappointed by this film. 5.9/10

Can You Ever Forgive Me? is a small, personal movie. It is not about someone changing the world or experiencing some major historical event. It’s just a small scale, very human tragedy. It remains gripping due to its excellent writing directing and superb performances. 8.8/10

Based on an exceptionally interesting historical figure, The Girl King is a two hour exercise in wasted potential and disappointment. 4.8/10
Heavenly Creatures is a very, very good movie even though it is certainly not a feel-good one. 8.8/10
