The fact that so many WLW movies since have been inspired by Desert Hearts or used it as a jumping off point is a positive, not a negative. Desert Hearts laid the foundation for WLW romances movies decades to come. 8.1/10

It has little valid artistic merit, but if you want to see two beautiful women engaging in a bunch of well-shot sex scenes, Room in Rome exists.
Based on an exceptionally interesting historical figure, The Girl King is a two hour exercise in wasted potential and disappointment. 4.8/10
A Question of Love is my first choice recommendation for a pro-gay movie to show your grandparents both in terms of the message it sends and the quality of the finished product. 6.3/10
Cameron Post is competent and a close adaption of its source material. However, it lacks personality as its own piece of storytelling. 6.1/10
While The Unwanted is not a particularly pleasant sit, this movie had a lot of original ideas and held my interest.
An ambitious directorial debut from Shamim Sarif, The World Unseen has some issues but is at the end of the day, a strong and engaging film. 7.8/10
Unlike most happy WLW movies, Nina’s Heavenly Delights, did not make me feel a lingering desire for a perfect girlfriend. Instead, I finished the film mostly craving really good curry. 6.4/10
Zoe.Misplaced is the only WLW movie I can find whose English title starts with Z. Given that my expectations for this movie amounted to nothing more than it being a WLW movies whose title started with Z, Zoe.Misplaced exceeded my expectations. 5.0/10
