You Will Be Mine is a major plateau of a movie. There’s little rising action, we just exist at a state of 7/10 intensity through almost all of the runtime. 5.5/10
Within trying to undo a faulty narrative and craft a new one, Wild Nights made the delightful choice to do so with comedy. 9/10
Nina isn’t a wholly new story or anything that warrants a two hour and ten minute runtime yet here we are. 5.1/10
Kajillionaire has so much going on in it and every part of it is handled so brilliantly. The film is a slowburn romance/belated coming of age story using the crime genre as framework and mixed in with comedic sensibilities. 9.3/10
The Fish Child is basically a series of tragic and dramatic elements held together through good cinematography and performances. 6.1/10
Shiva Baby is a great little comedy and incredibly self-assured for being the feature length debut of filmmaker Emma Seligman. 8/10
The Perfume of Memory never feels fully like a story or film but like a proof of concept. It’s less of a film on its own and more proof that Oswaldo Montengegro could make a film. 2.4/10
