utterfly is a simple, gorgeous and effective drama. It is not only a heart-wrenching depiction of what it is like to be gay in Hong Kong but has universal truths about being gay regardless of country. 8.3/10

Sonja is ultimately a competent but unremarkable coming of age film. 5.2/10
The Hours is a great and heartbreaking movie. Full of great dialogue, great performances and difficult themes, it is an emotional, sometimes heartbreaking film. 9/10
There ended up being a lot more salvageable content and half-decent jokes in Girl Play than I expected. 5.3/10
Somehow, despite this words being basically antonyms, Miao Miao is a lighthearted tragedy involving a bisexual love triangle. 6.5/10
Four Minutes is a well-crafted drama with excellent directing and good character work. Don’t go into it expecting and laughs or romance, though. 8.2/10
At no point did Round Trip take these ordinary characters and turn them or the movie they inhabit into something extraordinary.
Girlfriend is both the worst WLW movie I’ve seen in a while and yet also the most fun I’ve had watching a WLW movie in a while. 3.5/10
Not only does Running on Empty Dreams lack any joy (which at least is intentional) but it’s executed so poorly as to be a borderline painful experience to sit through. 2.1/10
Had Drool made Imogen the main character, I think I would have loved it. As it stands, Drool is a seriously mixed bag. 5.2/10
