Matsumoto Seicho Special: Yubi is the rare WLW movie that crosses from just being bad into being so bad it’s kind of good. 3.2/10

Lots of Ride or Die felt like a missed opportunity of the most irritating sort; one that gets very close to being good but doesn’t quite get there. 5.5/10
While the 60’s one is closer to the original story, nicer to look at and less sleazy, I prefer this 1983 version. I can’t objectively defend my position but that’s what’s in my heart. 7.1/10
Revolutionary Girl Utena: The Movie is a gloriously gay, surreal visual treat of a film with themes of adulthood and female liberation. 9.1/10
What really brings A Piece of Our Life down is the two scenes of sexual assault and how the film didn’t treat this with the seriousness that topic requires. 5.6/10
To my pleasant surprise, Schoolgirl Complex is hardly sexual or fetishized at all. But crossing the low threshold of not being sleazy and gross is not enough to make it an interesting movie. 5.5/10
Imperfect as it is, Manji is ultimately engaging to watch. So much so that it’s one of very few films I wish were longer. 6.5/10
Holy crap, Love My Life is literally the cutest WLW movie I’ve ever seen. 7.9/10
Fatal Frame the movie has more or less nothing to do with said video game. It does have lesbians though. Frankly, I think this movie should inspire others to make video game tie-ins that may or may not have anything to do with the source material but definitely contain queer content. 6.6/10
