Shot by such a bland filmmaker as Chris Columbus, the personality and edge necessary to make Rent work and make it connect with disaffected young people is totally lost. 4.7/10
Kissing Jessica Stein is one of few well-done looks at bisexuality, sexual experimentation and the difference between romantic and sexual attraction. 7.9/10
Not only does it featuring explicitly queer characters, it allows them to be happy and alive. From the time it was made in, Personal Best’s take on sexuality is quite refreshing. 6.1/10
To any WLW out there with shitty parents, Nick Offerman’s character in Hearts Beat Loud is your dad now. I don’t make the rules, he just is. 7.9/10
I found the lead characters and their politics to be largely disagreeable in Itty Bitty Titty Committee. I did not find the film to be particularly funny nor romantic so as a romantic comedy, it’s 0 for 2. 4.6/10
Freeheld is a story that absolutely deserved to be told, dead lesbian and all. It’s based on an important legal battle for queer rights and the movie does a great job with adapting the story. 8.1/10
