Despite some very dated attitudes towards gender and sexuality, I’m happy to welcome Invincible Asia to the canon of queer cinematic badasses. I love queer villains and I love powerful queer characters. Asia is both. 6.7/10

As an aspiring filmmaker myself, this is a great example of a well-done script with great characters that can be shot on a smaller budget. The outcome is a dark, moving and funny portrait of a complex relationship. 6.8/10
Bodies Bodies Bodies scared me less than I expected, but made me laugh more. The film takes 20-something messiness and ramps it up so high that it has a body count. 7.7/10
I do not know who the audience is for the Compulsion remake. I can’t see anyone singling this out as a favourite movie of theirs. It never quite comes together. 5.4/10
Me, Myself and Her is one of the most conflict-light WLW movies I’ve ever seen. It bored me. 5.2/10
Mango Kiss is one of the least sexy depictions of kink I’ve ever seen. For a comedy movie, that shouldn’t be a problem. But it’s not funny either. 3/10
Goldfish Memory fits a truly insane amount of character and plot into its runtime. And it does so without feeling too overstuffed. 6.7/10
18 years on, Producing Adults’ attitude towards autonomy, informed consent and adult communication feels outdated. 5.1/10
Anchor and Hope is one of at least a half dozen very similar themed movies I’ve seen. And within that collection of films, it’s a middling entry. 5.4/10
Like its title, the film moves slowly and without strong direction. 3.4/10
