I’m pretty sure Female Perversions thinks it’s smart. It thinks it’s saying something and making a point. It is not. It’s neither smart nor sexy nor memorable. 4.7/10

Imperfect as it is, Manji is ultimately engaging to watch. So much so that it’s one of very few films I wish were longer. 6.5/10
Anatomy of a Love Seen had some good moments, solid acting and a meta but weirdly good final sex scene. However, none of that was enough to make my opinion of this film more than a resounding “meh.” 5.3/10
Not only does it featuring explicitly queer characters, it allows them to be happy and alive. From the time it was made in, Personal Best’s take on sexuality is quite refreshing. 6.1/10
Freeheld is a story that absolutely deserved to be told, dead lesbian and all. It’s based on an important legal battle for queer rights and the movie does a great job with adapting the story. 8.1/10
The Four-Faced Liar mostly fails because it fails to walk that fine line of dramedy. It’s too quirky to be truly dramatic but far too depressing to be a comedy. 3.8/10
Disobedience is a pretty heavy movie to sit through. It does end hopefully but man, the journey it takes to get there can be pretty rough. It is absolutely a good movie, though. 8.4/10
The screenplay of Lisa Cholodenko’s The Kids Are All Right is the star of the show. It finds universal truths about family in a movie about gay parenting. 8.6/10
