While I am pleased that Just the Two of Us featured zero dead lesbians, that doesn’t change the fact that it’s a poorly written and acted movie. 3.1/10

I was incredibly surprised to learn a woman directed Baby Jane as it seems to genuinely dislike its female characters and what they stand for. 3.6/10
An Amorous Woman of Tang Dynasty absolutely exceeded my expectations in terms of its visual quality. Does that make up for its basic story, slut-shaming and overly casual, somewhat sexualized rape scenes? No, but it’s something at least. 5.8/10
Well, Hayley “Lesbian Jesus” Kiyoko is in Becks so it shouldn’t be a surprise that the movie is good. 6.4/10
Clara’s Summer feels realistic but unimportant. The coming out narrative doesn’t offer anything new nor does the overall depiction of teens offer much depth or introspection. 5.3/10
Love is not Perfect has little going for it. It’s forgettable, boring and not even that queer. 4/10
There are Canadian films and then there are CANADIAN films. Revoir Julie, with its bilingualism, actors you’ve never heard of, small-town setting and conflict that can be described as moderate at best falls firmly into the latter category. 6.3/10
There’s an honesty and realism I find in Happy End that American films with similar themes lack. 7.7/10
