Losing Chase isn’t particularly gay, or particularly ambitious. It really does feel like a 90 minute story all in service of one admittedly spectacular kiss. 6.1/10
There’s so much more subtly to Tár than I expected. This is an exceptional character study of a woman who is awful, but in a way that feels complex and real. 8.4/10
Even while looking directly at it, The Adored failed to grab my full attention or leave a strong impression. 2.4/10
Monstrous isn’t terrible. It’s competent, but fails to bring real scares. There’s also not enough Yeti representation. 4.3/10
May’s weirdness as a film and as a character brilliantly exemplifies some of the themes of queer horror. There’s definite appeal here for queer people, weirdos and anyone who considers them self an outsider. 7.1/10
Contracted is a nasty, disturbing horrifying movie that I regret watching. So now I’m left with the question: Is it a fair to criticize a horror film over the fact that it did indeed horrify me? 6/10
This review is a lot of words but really, that’s all you need to know. Ultimately, Brides to Be a horror movie that isn’t remotely horrifying. 3.1/10
I hope streaming service Shudder keeps snapping up these gay A24 cast-off horror films. The Last Thing Mary Saw might not be as good as say, The Witch, but few things are. 7/10
Carmilla is the rare film I wish were longer. I did not want to leave the story and world this film created. 7.6/10
