This is a small, emotional movie that perhaps got too into its feelings to the point of it losing credibility for me. I do not think Bao Bao is a great film. But it does hold together, provide a few new things to the lesbian pregnancy subgenre. 5.1/10

Nina Wu is a beautifully shot, pointedly angry and upsetting film with an important thing to say. It’s often an unpleasant sit, and rightfully so. My main critique is that I wish for a little more focus. 6.9/10
This feels like a muddled artistic vision that culminates in something that’s mostly dull and occasionally inexcusably offensive. 4.6/10
perhaps because I’m already a fan of her output, We Are Gamily fell short of my high expectations for a Zero Chou film. 4.7/10
I’m still not sure if Chinese Chocolate has enough WLW to qualify for this site. The film is entirely a prelude to a lesbian relationship. 5.1/10
If you need something cute to spend less than 50% of your brain power on, Touch might be the movie for you. 5.6/10
Love’s Lone Flower is a beautiful tragedy. There’s a sad poetry to the story. But more so, this is a beautiful film to look at. 6.7/10
Queer people deserve this sort of wish fulfillment, cliche romantic media. More than that, they deserve it to be good. The Substitute is here to be an entry into that all too rare club of quality queer wish fulfillment romances. 6.9/10
Despite some very dated attitudes towards gender and sexuality, I’m happy to welcome Invincible Asia to the canon of queer cinematic badasses. I love queer villains and I love powerful queer characters. Asia is both. 6.7/10
Murmur of Youth is a perfectly adept film. But it’s a very small, quiet story that isn’t exactly going to stand out in my memory. 5.6/10
