This is not the most exciting WLW film by any means. But if you need a sort of gentle relationship tragedy, Finding the Adolescence fits that bill. 5.6/10

Writing this review in 2023 means I’ve not only seen lots of films like this but that the real-life attitude towards same-sex parenting has evolved much past what By Design portrays. 5.7/10
Do Revenge is a Netflix movie. And Netflix as an entire brand proves that things can be popular without being cool. Do Revenge just isn’t cool. 5.4/10
Having the bisexual, butch Sister Thirteen as protagonist is extremely progressive and ultimately, a big win in the field of representation. But because this film was made in 1998, this representation is not without its problematic aspects. 5.6/10
The medium chosen to tell this story and the quality of directing brings down Stud Life’s vibrant, likeable and realistic protagonist. 5.1/10
The visuals can’t really add much to such a character-heavy story. Or maybe there’s a way they could, but that wasn’t present in Navidad. 5.3/10
Nice though it is to look at, Bonnie & Bonnie doesn’t bring much new to the gay couple crime spree subgenre. 5.8/10
Losing Chase isn’t particularly gay, or particularly ambitious. It really does feel like a 90 minute story all in service of one admittedly spectacular kiss. 6.1/10
I love the message of this film and came to enjoy the characters. But my god, Badhaai Do was too long. 6.0/10
Contracted is a nasty, disturbing horrifying movie that I regret watching. So now I’m left with the question: Is it a fair to criticize a horror film over the fact that it did indeed horrify me? 6/10
