My ending thought about Muriel’s Parents are Desperate is that it sure is a movie that exists. 5.5/10
She Must Be Seeing Things surprised me with its well-crafted story featuring realistic and interesting characters and hints of darkness lying just beneath the surface. 7.5/10
Watching this film really makes me think writer/diretor Kyu-dong Min genuinely doesn’t understand that women are people, not just sex objects. I truly hate to see it. 2.9/10
While I can’t outright give this film a positive rating, I do think Her Side of the Bed shows a lot of potential. 5.5/10
Cocoon is a masterfully directed, way above average queer coming-of-age film. 8.4/10
Gray Matters neuters its own message and makes this a film without an audience. 4.7/10
There’s a lot to love about Set Me Free. If you haven’t seen it, I really recommend tracking down this 23 year old French Canadian coming-of-age film. 8/10
The comedy is hit and miss but A Family Affair’s overall story of love, acceptance and its relationship with religion generally works. 5.6/10
