This is one of those movies that I give a negative review to because there’s just not enough positive to say about it. The film is a bit thin on the ground anyway, and what they do present is less than great. 3.8/10

Vintage psychodramas are a non-renewable resource. We’re not exactly getting more of them. So I adore the ones we do have. As imperfect as they are, they are engaging, fucked up and also willing to explore some interesting concepts. 6.2/10
Wild Things: Diamonds in the Rough created an idealized, misogynistic world where the only women in it are hot. And then made the choice to hate all the women it just made up. 2/10
The Mountain tells a human story without managing to fuck it up. But it also doesn’t exactly provide enough drama to make it a particularly engaging sit. 5.4/10
I watched What It Was. And upon completion, I could not actually tell you what it was. 2.7/10
Between the Seasons is a small, sad and hopeful slice of life movie. 6.7/10
I applaud The Exchange for all that it is, but I can’t honestly write that the movie was amazing or particularly innovative. It’s just a high school romance. 5.6/10
Bye Bye Blondie isn’t awful by any means. But it’s also not good enough for me to call it good. 4.6/10
Fresh Kill doesn’t quite manage to marry its political and philosophical observations with its fictive narrative. 5.8/10
This feels like a muddled artistic vision that culminates in something that’s mostly dull and occasionally inexcusably offensive. 4.6/10
