Showing beautiful women in a way that doesn’t feel overtly objectifying or gross is way, way too low of a bar for me to call this a good movie. 4.3/10

There’s nothing about this movie that would make me recommend it specifically over so many similar movies that are more unique in some way or other. 4.7/10
The best way I can describe The Invisible Mother is a David Lynch film by way of John Waters. That’s a stressful and upsetting combination of influences! 7.2/10
Life Blood is a movie that feels defensively half-assed. I get a real vibe of, “your criticisms can’t hurt me because I wasn’t even trying anyway” from most of the film. Which is a shame, because I don’t hate all of the ideas in Life Blood. But geez, the execution was shit. 3.7/10
Jagged Mind isn’t nearly as thrilling as it should be. The story doesn’t live up to the premise. And it’s further let down by some technical weaknesses. 4.8/10
I’m deeply biased against dramedies. As with so many films in this genre, I feel like trying to thread the needle of being both drama and comedy ended up with a movie neither as funny or as dramatic as it had the potential to be. 5.6/10
There’s nothing particularly wrong with the film. I’m just of an age and in an era where depicting lesbians as normal people doesn’t really interest me. I know lesbians are normal people. Now show me lesbians being absolute freaks. 5.5/10
Night Comes On is unusual in how sensitively it treats this story of criminal youth and revenge. And there’s something extremely admirable there. But when it comes down to personal preference, I’ve never been one for subtlety. 6.7/10
This is a hilarious, inappropriate comedy with a serious bite. It’s shocking, laugh-out-loud funny and at times, batshit insane. I loved it. 8.3/10
Kate Can’t Swim has various positives and a basic level of competence which I admire, but can’t recommend. This is one of those instances of there just not being enough here. 4.8/10
