I try not to stereotype nations or national cinema, but this is one of the most classically French movies of all time. All comes second to romantic and sexual passion in Looking For Cheyenne. 5.7/10

As a biopic, I find Marinette slightly below average. I think the film lacks focus and doesn’t do enough justice to the character at its centre. 4.9/10
having seen numerous of these toxic female relationship films, Heartbeast’s artistic merits and gripping atmosphere kept me on the edge of my seat. That’s what I want a thriller to do and that’s often something I miss from this subgenre. 6.7/10
The brief period of time where at least in fiction, you could hide away from the troubles of the world in the arms of a pretty girl might be coming to an end. In its place is Foreign Language, where even in the arms of a pretty girl, the rise of far-right extremism and environmental collapse loom ever-present. 7.7/10
What I liked about The Seed was its quicker, comedic pacing and the fact that it does cover some new ground that other similar films, especially dramas do not. What I don’t like about the film is that despite being a comedy, it’s not very funny. 4.7/10
Violette is a well put together biopic about a more than worthy subject. It is not exactly the most groundbreaking biopic by any measure and I still think it runs a touch long. But this is ultimately, a solid film. 6.8/10
Personally, I did not enjoy The Ladies Almanack. That being said, the amount of love, passion and creativity present in every shot in this film is something I admire. 4.6/10
This is a really forgettable film with a standard premise and below average execution. 3/10
Bye Bye Blondie isn’t awful by any means. But it’s also not good enough for me to call it good. 4.6/10
While Days of Happiness is not a bad film by any means, the Tár comparisons definitely hurt it as Tár is basically a masterpiece and Days of Happiness just isn’t on the same level. 6.0/10
