Young and Wild is not a perfect film. I certainly have mixed opinions on it. But for all its faults, one I am certain of is that this film would have been 50 times worse had it not been directed by a woman. 6.2/10
While I commend the film for its sex positivity, not all of French Twist’s humour and general attitude works 25 years after its release. 5.4/10
At no point did Round Trip take these ordinary characters and turn them or the movie they inhabit into something extraordinary.
Women Who Kill is a dark romantic comedy. That’s a lot of genres to try and juggle. The movie does so with moderate success. 5.8/10
Despite a good performance from Dylan Gelula, Kerem Sanga’s First Girl I Loved lets itself down by delving into topics too heavy for the movie to deal with. 5.4/10
My main problem with the admittedly competent film is that it failed to grab and hold my entire attention.
Had Drool made Imogen the main character, I think I would have loved it. As it stands, Drool is a seriously mixed bag. 5.2/10
