While The Dancer looks very nice, the writing lets the movie down. This is such a bland and by-the-numbers biopic. 5.6/10

The Chambermaid Lynn wants two things. It desperately wants to be Amelie. It also wants you to take it completely seriously. Those two wants are directly contradictory. 5.2/10
Like any subgenre, there are good films and bad ones. The Gymnast isn’t really either. It’s a pretty middling movie overall. 6.0/10
The Countess has a base level of competence that stops me from calling it out and out bad. However, personally, I was greatly disappointed by this film. 5.9/10
Anatomy of a Love Seen had some good moments, solid acting and a meta but weirdly good final sex scene. However, none of that was enough to make my opinion of this film more than a resounding “meh.” 5.3/10
Not only does it featuring explicitly queer characters, it allows them to be happy and alive. From the time it was made in, Personal Best’s take on sexuality is quite refreshing. 6.1/10
Like lots of Netflix films, To Each Her Own doesn’t seem to have grander ambitions than to waste 90 minutes of your time and have you not feel pissed off at the end of it.
Ultimately, Alena is spooky and well-paced enough to be at least mildly successful as a horror movie. And even a mildly successful horror movie is a minority in that genre. Still, as much as I’ve seen worse movies than Alena, I’ve seen better ones too. 5.7/10
If you’re a fan of particularly extreme horror movies and don’t mind seeing vomit, bugs and implications of child rape, The Perfection is an effective horror movie. It just would’ve been more effective if they’d chosen a more creative horror device than rape. 6.0/10
