Desire, Hostility, Delusion is a movie that deals with some really heavy subject matter. And it does so with no skill or subtly or quality. Every single aspect of this movie is abjectly bad. 1.7/10

This is the kind of forgettable movie where you spend the film’s whole runtime thinking of other, better films. 4.3/10
If you want to see Milla Jovovich kiss some women, that does technically happen in .45. But it’s infrequent and feels disingenuous when it does happen. And the rest of the movie doesn’t exactly make up for that. 3.5/10
Tormenting the Hen felt like the product of a writer’s retreat; calibrated and intentional but potentially out of touch with an audience beyond other creatives. 4.7/10
There are arguments or explorations of how this movie does representation, particularly of its sapphic characters. Such a topic would be a great one for me and my website to cover. Too bad I don’t feel strongly enough about this movie to do that. 4.6/10
This is the kind of story that is sometimes necessary to write to “get it out of your system” early in a creative career. It’s also the kind of story that’s going to have a lot more meaning for the writer than for any given audience. 2.2/10
If you’re gonna play in the BDSM as horror/thriller space, I’m gonna need some really no-flinching nastiness. Also, more of a focus on the psychology of the characters that got them to such a place. If you’re not going to do either of those things, you might as well just make porn to begin with. 4.0/10
Stroking an Animal is only 70 minutes long. And it fills those 70 minutes with two things: attempts at artsy cinematography (to varying levels of success) and sexy young people doing sexy things like having sex. Where’s the story? Where’s the character? Not in Stroking an Animal, that’s for sure. 2.4/10
This is harmless, indulgent wish fulfillment that puts a lesbian relationship as something that spans multiple universes and timelines . I so badly want to share in that joy. But this is not a well-executed project on almost any level. 4.7/10
I thought Guardami was going to be tragedy porn meets actual porn. As it turns out, the film didn’t even deliver on the tragedy. 2.0/10
