Life Blood is a movie that feels defensively half-assed. I get a real vibe of, “your criticisms can’t hurt me because I wasn’t even trying anyway” from most of the film. Which is a shame, because I don’t hate all of the ideas in Life Blood. But geez, the execution was shit. 3.7/10

The visuals can’t really add much to such a character-heavy story. Or maybe there’s a way they could, but that wasn’t present in Navidad. 5.3/10
I want to support this horror film with a committed, non-objectified lesbian couple who get drawn into a psychic conspiracy. But the execution of the ideas is just not up to par. 4.5/10
You Will Be Mine is a major plateau of a movie. There’s little rising action, we just exist at a state of 7/10 intensity through almost all of the runtime. 5.5/10
The Fish Child is basically a series of tragic and dramatic elements held together through good cinematography and performances. 6.1/10
I really urge you to check Hannah Free out. It’s a lovely film with a lot of heart 7.2/10
If you want to see a movie that depicts how bad it could be for queer people and women, watch this one. If you’re sick and tired of seeing queer women abused and not get a happy ending, maybe don’t watch Purple Sea. 6.5/10
Ghosted is one of those bad movies where throughout most of the film I just kept asking, what is the point of this movie? 3.8/10
Not only does Running on Empty Dreams lack any joy (which at least is intentional) but it’s executed so poorly as to be a borderline painful experience to sit through. 2.1/10
Had Drool made Imogen the main character, I think I would have loved it. As it stands, Drool is a seriously mixed bag. 5.2/10
