While I absolutely applaud this film on the bigger picture of its genre and existence, it doesn’t hold up as well when you take a closer look. 5.7/10

Girl With Hyacinths is commonly described as “lesbian Citizen Kane.” And I totally agree with that assessment. This movie is lesbian Citizen Kane! 9.1/10
More than being an involved story, To Kill the Beast is a celebration of what can be accomplished with the moving image. It’s all vibes all the time. 6.9/10
Russian Doll never feels like some grand, layer cake of crime and lesbianism. It’s a bunch of different elements that never blend together properly. 2.4/10
Matsumoto Seicho Special: Yubi is the rare WLW movie that crosses from just being bad into being so bad it’s kind of good. 3.2/10
Through the Glass Darkly works as a familiar yet queer take on the mystery genre complete with an absolute boatload of tragedy just for fun. 7.7/10
There’s nothing particularly wrong with Affinity it’s just that there is potential to maker a stronger, more artistic adaption. 6.7/10
I loved Knife + Heart. The film is a queer update of a genre I already loved. It’s kept all the staples of that genre while managing to make a film that’s gay-friendly instead of homophobic. 8.7/10
Ghosted is one of those bad movies where throughout most of the film I just kept asking, what is the point of this movie? 3.8/10
